HEALTH & WELLNESS PROGRAMMES OVER THE YEARS
MOGATLA WELLNESS PROGRAMME
Impact: This initiative improves overall community health by addressing sanitation infrastructure in rural areas. RCDT supported the construction of a sewer reticulation system to eliminate unsafe pit latrines and outdated drainage systems, significantly improving hygiene and living conditions.
Better sanitation means fewer health risks, improved dignity and a healthier environment for families to thrive. Because wellness starts with what’s happening underground – literally.
LIFELINE NW RUSTENBURG CENTRE – HEALTH AWARENESS
Impact: Through focused health awareness campaigns, this programme promotes informed, preventative healthcare practices within the community.
RCDT’s support strengthens education around hygiene, emotional wellbeing and access to support services. The result? Communities that are better equipped to recognise health risks early and take proactive steps towards healthier lifestyles – knowledge that saves more than just time.
FAMSA – FATHERHOOD PROGRAMME
Impact: Designed to strengthen family structures, this initiative encourages fathers and male caregivers to play active, positive roles in their children’s lives. The programme highlights the link between father involvement and improved cognitive, emotional and academic outcomes. By promoting responsible fatherhood, RCDT supports healthier family dynamics and long-term child development. Because present fathers change futures.
FAMSA – CHILDREN AGAINST VIOLENCE
Impact: This impactful programme addresses the emotional and social wellbeing of young people by building critical life skills. Participants are guided through structured sessions that develop self-image, leadership, mutual gender respect and conflict resolution.
With RCDT’s backing, young people receive both empowerment and accreditation, reinforcing positive behaviour and resilience. Strong kids don’t just happen – they’re built, intentionally.
DIGNITY CARE PACKS TO GIRLS IN SCHOOL
Impact: This initiative safeguards the dignity and education of young girls by providing sanitary towels and essential hygiene items such as toothpaste, face cloths and lotions. RCDT’s intervention reduces school absenteeism linked to menstrual cycles and promotes confidence, self-esteem and uninterrupted learning. It’s practical, powerful and exactly the kind of support that keeps girls in class – where they belong.
DONATION OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENT TO
THEKWANE / MFIDIKWE CLINICS
Impact: RCDT’s vision for this project was to strengthen primary healthcare services in the Thekwane and Mfidikwe communities by equipping local clinics with ‘ideal status’ medical infrastructure.
The trust provided state-of-the-art equipment (beds, wheelchairs, imaging/monitoring tools) and upgraded the facility environments to support faster diagnoses, better patient care and higher service capacity.
For example, the hand-over was referenced in a community publication noting that “state-of-the-art medical equipment has been installed at Thekwane Clinic and Mfidikwe Clinic, thanks to a donation by … RCDT”.
By doing so, RCDT helped reduce service strain at these clinics, improved turnaround times for patients and raised the standard of healthcare for the surrounding communities. Better tools leading to better care leading to better outcomes.
DONATION OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENT TO
KANANA CLINIC
Impact: This intervention ensured that Kanana Clinic received advanced infrastructure so that local residents have more reliable access to healthcare, fewer referrals out of the area and improved continuity of care. In effect, RCDT is turning the clinic from ‘just coping’ into a facility that meets rising expectations and community needs. Because a clinic should heal – not just cope.
