WHO IS RCDT?
The Rustenburg Community Development Trust (RCDT) is a development-focused trust established to promote economic participation and community upliftment within Rustenburg and its surrounding areas.
We serve as a structured funding and oversight body, ensuring that resources are invested into initiatives that strengthen enterprise, build resilience and improve livelihoods.
RCDT operates within a defined governance framework that prioritises transparency, fairness and measurable impact.
The Trust was founded on the principle that sustainable development requires more than financial support: it requires accountability, partnership and long-term thinking.
Our work focuses on enabling local entrepreneurs, supporting community initiatives and strengthening economic inclusion. We are committed to responsible stewardship of funds and to ensuring that each supported initiative contributes meaningfully to community growth.
We do not simply fund projects. We invest in outcomes.
OUR PURPOSE
MANDATE
Our primary mandate is to carry out Public Benefit Activities through community development for our beneficiaries. The Trust strives to play a role as a development facilitator and agent in our benefit area by helping to lead the development aspirations and achievement of the communities.
VISION
To contribute towards sustainable community upliftment through mining and beyond mining. To advance sustained and diverse socio-economic development in local communities through active participation and development partnerships.
MISSION
To carry out Public Benefit Activities through community development for our beneficiaries. This includes the promotion of community-based projects to self–help, empowerment, capacity building, skills development and anti-poverty measures.
